… stopped the Postal Credit Union Community Foundation from contributing to the “2012 in 2012” campaign. THANK YOU!
Speaking of work — we have 3 weeks left to match a $10,000 challenge grant. One donor has offered to match all the contributions we receive, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000. Right now, we’re about halfway there. It’s a bit daunting but we’re making our final push.
If we’re successful, we’ll have $20,000 on hand, and that is enough to buy the Washington County Library 2,012 books this year. As you may know, the library is under a financial crunch and has cut not only hours but also cut back on their collections budget. At a time like this, we need more books on the shelves, not less! Especially for kids — 40% of the items checked out are for children. And also for adults who have failing eyesight — large print books are among the most expensive items the Library buys. Your contribution, before September 30th, will be matched dollar for dollar. Can you help? The “Contribute” button is just to your right!
